November is almost over and I've only posted once, so here's my recap of the last few weeks:
Lots and lots of flying and studying for flying and working and school. I got to solo this month on November 20th, which means I went up in a plane all by myself and flew in the traffic pattern.
So much fun!! I got to solo again today, which was fine, until just before my last landing some crazy bee decided to fly out from wherever the heck it had been hiding and fly all around the cockpit.... Freaked me out and that's the first time I've ever screamed in an airplane. But flying is fun, I'm enjoying it still!
Let's see, what else did I do this month... I went to two missionary farewells. Those are always fun, going up to Ogden to see my family and friends :) Stopped at Nielsen's Frozen Custard for Chocolate Brownie Concretes, went to the Union Station, walked around 25th street, went and saw Big Hero 6 (super cute, btw, go and see it if you haven't already!) and ended the night at La Ferrovia, which was fabulous, as always.
Also in November, I got sick. And I'm still sick, which is no fun.. I had to buy cough meds for myself for the first time. And wasn't that an experience. Just imagine me, the sickly, coughing, clueless 18-year-old looking at roughly 600 (okay, maybe that's an exaggeration) different boxes of meds, trying to figure out which one works best, which one has the best price and doesn't taste like death all while coughing my lungs out and losing my voice. Not cool man, not cool. Probably the best (Insert sarcasm here) part of being sick was on my stage check when I had a cough attack and lost my voice so the instructor I was with had to take over the radio calls because I couldn't make them. Luckily, I had already passed the radios part of the stage check so it was okay, but still! It wasn't fun at all.
It's Thanksgiving break this week, which is nice. Sleeping in, not worrying about school, it's nice :) Yesterday got to go up to Thanksgiving Point. I don't know about you guys, but I love museums. And dinosaurs. So dinosaur museums just make me super happy and I feel like I'm 5 years old again. It's awesome :) Plus, there was this cool room where you could learn about erosion. It was kind of like when you are a little kid and you go the park after it's just rained and there's little puddles everywhere so you make little moats everywhere? It was exactly that but cooler :) Wish I had taken a picture of the awesome little reservoir and canyon thing I had going, but my hands were too sandy to do so and I forgot to after I washed my hands because in the next room over there was the giant T-rex :) And it was awesome. There was also another room that was kind of like Space Mountain at Disneyland, ya know where it's pitch black and all you can see are stars? It was so cool!!!!! And the cool aquatic dinosaur exhibit was also kind of like Disneyland as the different exhibits smelled different, I.E. the aquatic area smelled salty and the Jurassic Period smelled like a forest :)
